SAN FRANCISCO—On Sunday, September 6, a kite surfer in distress in the middle of the bay near the Golden Gate Bridge was reported to the Golden Gate National Park Service.

The incident unfolded at the Crissy Field recreational area of trails, picnic areas, and beaches. The San Francisco Fire Department indicated a full Marine water rescue was deployed to rescue the victim.

Their partners, the U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Southwest, located and rescued the victim. The victim was back onshore and SFFD medics determined the person would be okay by 6:20 p.m. No other details about the victim has been disclosed to the public.
